WHY is it so hard for my kids to take a good picture? WHY don't they know how to smile on command?

The annual Christmas tree slaughter

The weekend after Thanksgiving is our annual green tree slaughter. We spotted this mounter about 50 yards out while weaving in and out of the tree line. We saw many other mounters, but we knew this one had to go down and right to our living room. Here are the kids right after the big fight, but as you can see, we came out on top. (Side note, Bauer brought his own axe.)

Well…….not so much.

"No Santa, I will not sit on your lap, however I will take that candy you have and bring me a Monster Inc. toy."

Rink 2013

It is right around the corner……the rink of 2013. A few changes for this year's rink, we now have two nets and the rink will be just a little bigger. As we all know, at the Walter house we train all year round to hit the rink. The boards are out and I hope in a couple of weeks to put some water down.

I wear sunglasses and I like them

This blog has generated so much attention that Georgi has to wear sunglasses everywhere she goes to hide her signature style.

Halloween #4

So this is 19 days late, however Jill had these pics on her phone until last night. Halloween is over now and Bauer already is planning for next year…….I'll be honest I'm sick of hearing about it.

Halloween Party #3

This past Tuesday was the ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) class Halloween Party. Bauer was the new version of Captain America and Rhett was his trusty sidekick  Flash (or is it The Flash?). Georgi was a pink skeleton, which also sub as PJ's too. Most people would be sick of Halloween by now…….not us, the really Halloween is to come still.

Halloween Party #2 for the Walter's. I was Paul Bunyan and naturally my wife was Babe the Blue Ox. Rhett was a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Bauer was Captain America (his costume is a 2t and Bauer is 4 years old). Georgi was a Minnesota Wild cheerleader. 

I won't say any names of who won the Halloween costume contest, however the winner is standing next to Jill, in the yellow dress and Rhett can't even bare to look that way as he was so scared! 

Can anyone recognize the evil Halloween pumpkin?

Halloween Party #1

For all of you hard core "Hold On, Dad!" followers, you already know that Halloween is the cream of the crop at our house. If you would ask my boys what holiday they look forward to the most, it would most definitely be Halloween. Luckily we have four Halloween Parties to hit up this year. Now usually on a daily basis we have some sort of costume on at our house, so we really don't know what the boys are going to be for Halloween. Thirty minutes before this picture was taken Bauer just put on his Dracula cape, Rhett found his shark costume and we shoved Georgi into this lion outfit.

GET 'ER DONE

The farm has been short help so they called in the big dog to help shovel some corn. Bauer told me this is his favorite job and as you can see by the picture he is eagerly waiting for the next load.

Wild

A few of our favorite hockey players have been in a big slump. Here we are trying to diagnose what they have been doing wrong. We did figure out the problem, they need to bare down and score. It was so easy to figure it out on the kitchen table!

From boy to man

My little boy (Bauer) has entered manhood and he is now 4. The highlights of the day was the superman cake and a new bike. Bauer does not know it yet, but it is that bike that has brought him into manhood and the freedom of life. Now that he has that bike he can just go whenever he wants, he may just take off on me at any moment to go off Toledo or San Diego.......whereever he wants! Yep, Bauer is a real man now.

Opening night

In honor of opening night of the 2013-2014 NHL hockey season. We are ready to hit the ice!

What I do

When I tell people I am a stay at home dad I normally receive a funny or odd comment such as; "good for you" or "wish I could stay at home and drink beer all day" or "bless your soul" or "I could never do it". I actually enjoy my job however I wanted to show you other perceptions of what I do all day.

Staged or not staged?

Of course you know I didn't make these, its just way to nice. My Marine buddy from Nebraska came up with his family for a few days to roll with us. Bauer and Rhett still talk about Hayden everyday. This picture looks to perfect, one would think that it was staged.
